Local Link Galway is delighted to announce the introduction of a new service – Route 547 Portumna to Ballinasloe.

Calling at Portumna, Eyecourt, and Ballinasloe, the new service also caters for connections at Ballinasloe Train Station to Athlone, Dublin and Galway. This new service operates seven days a week, four times a day in both directions Monday to Saturday with reduced services on Sunday. With fares from as little as €2.50 including the Free Travel Pass and children under five go free.

"The service will operate fully accessible, low floor vehicles with up to 4 return journeys per day. This will provide a much needed link between the towns. Portumna is an important tourist hub in the east of the county which will benefit greatly from direct links to Ballinasloe and the Irish Rail network. Equally as important this new service will provide social, commercial and health links across the region. We are confident that the whole region will benefit greatly from this new initiative."
